We remind you that Igor Mosyichov's wards won in Moldova in the first group A match (7:0) and lost to Portugal in the second one (0:4). Today, they faced Italy, and this match decided the fate of the second playoff round to the semifinals from our quartet.

The first half was played in a tense battle. The Ukrainians delivered five shots on target against their opponents, while the Italians managed only four. However, they were sharper, and twice it was only Ivan Belimov's skill that saved our team, with another save coming from the goalkeeper.

After halftime, "Squadra Azzurra" conducted several dangerous attacks, but once again, our goalkeeper played brilliantly. And on the 28th minute, a counterattack down the left flank was successful for us, and Oleksandr Shpak scored the opening goal of the match from his second attempt. The Italians threw all their forces forward, and during one of our counterattacks, a cross twice saved them from an inevitable goal.

The final minutes of the match were played in attacks by Italy's team, which switched to playing with five outfield players. However, they lost possession of the ball in one of these attacks, and Nazar Pershin scored into an empty net.

Thus, 2:0 — victory for Ukraine U-19, who advanced to the semifinals of Euro-2025 where they will play against Spain.

The champions were teams from Spain (20192022) and Portugal (2023).

The Ukrainian team participated in all three final tournaments. In 2019, Vitaliy Odegov's wards secured third place in the group stage, and in 2022 they were stopped in the semifinals. In 2023, Igor Mosyichov's team also reached the semifinal stage.
