Reminder, this tournament was considered a preparation stage for the Euro 2026 (U-17) qualification. All of Ukraine's opponents were one year older. In their debut match, Alexander Sitnik's team narrowly lost to Qatar U-18 (1:2). The second opponent was Poland U-18, and the game ended in a draw (2:2).

In the final match, Ukraine faced the UAE U-18 teamThe score was opened at the 17th minute. Our opponents quickly counterattacked, and Seif da Costa scored off a deflection from a Ukrainian defender. Eleven minutes later, he struck again with a powerful shot from 25 meters to double his team's lead.

Immediately after halftime, Ukraine had scoring opportunities, but the Emirati defender cleared the ball from the goal line with his hand. The referee should have awarded a penalty and sent off the "handballer," but he missed it entirely. Ukraine had two more decent chances, but they couldn't capitalize on them. Unfortunately, in the final minutes of the match, our half-back Eugene Voloshko was injured. To add insult to injury, the UAE team scored again against Ukraine's goalkeeper at the 4th minute of stoppage time.

Thus, a 0-3 loss for Ukraine, marking the end of their tournament in Croatia.
