Today, September 6, the Ukraine U-18 national team (players born in or after 2008) played their second match at an international tournament in Sweden.

After a crushing victory over Norway (6:1) in their first game, the blue and yellow team today faced the hosts of the competition — the Swedish team. The match took place under constant rain on quite difficult terrain, but already at the 12th minute, Dmytro Zudin responded to a penetrating pass from Artem Zubriy with a header that put the ball in the net. The Swedes replied with several sharp attacks, but our goalkeeper Rostyslav Baglai played exceptionally well. In the first half's injury time, Mykita Melnyk picked up the ball after a set piece and effectively scored — 2:0.

The second half began with active plays from Vladimir Samborskyi’s wards who at least twice had opportunities to increase their score, but the players lacked accuracy in the final phase. After this, the game calmed down somewhat and only towards the end did our team experience a few nerve-wracking moments, but they maintained their lead.

Thus, 2:0 — victory for Ukraine's national team. The next match on the tournament will be against Denmark on September 9 (kickoff at 18:30).
