Today, September 4th, the Ukraine U-18 national team (players born in or after 2008) played their first match at an international tournament in Sweden.

The opponent for the blue and yellow team was Norway. The Scandinavians started better, and as early as the 5th minute, David de Ornelas opened the scoring with a shot from inside the penalty area. However, eight minutes later, Ukraine equalized. Oleksandr Sereda broke through on the right flank into the Norwegian penalty area and scored in the far corner — 1:1. And at the 29th minute mark, our team went ahead. Illia Kut'ya delivered a beautiful long pass to set up Dmitro Zudin one-on-one with the goalkeeper, who didn't miss — 2:1.

Right after halftime, the blue and yellow team scored again. After Alexander Sereda's through ball, Artem Zubruiy finished off the chance in the penalty area. On the 89th minute, Zudin scored Ukraine's fourth goal, completing his brace. And with two minutes to go, Zubruiy followed suit by also scoring a brace. The match ended on the 94th minute when Zakhar Zakarkiv added another goal.

So, 6:1 — an overwhelming victory for Ukraine's national team. Our next match at the tournament will be against Sweden on September 6th (kickoff at 5 PM).
