Today, September 3rd, the Ukraine U-19 youth team (players born in or after 2007) played their first match at a tournament they are participating in as part of a training camp in Spain.

The first opponent for coach Dmitro Mykhaylenko's squad was the England team. The match started without any warm-up play. As early as the 4th minute, after an English corner kick, Ukraine launched a swift counterattack that resulted in a goal, but it was disallowed due to offside.

The score was opened at the 10-minute mark. A prolonged attack by the British team on the right flank ended with a cross, which Domchak reacted to, but Mukasa got to the loose ball first — 1:0.

After halftime, Ukraine continued playing second fiddle. On the 62nd minute, high pressure from England led to a turnover near their penalty area. Meuca moved right and delivered an accurate shot from around 17 meters out into the left corner of the goal — 2:0. This score held until full time.

The next match for the blue-and-yellow team will be on September 6th against the Netherlands (kickoff at 8 PM).
