Activities of youth hubs for the "Open Football Festivals" project are underway in regions.

The events for children are taking place in youth hubs of the "Open Football Festivals" project in regions of Ukraine. The project is implemented by the Ukrainian Football Association and regional football associations with the support of the Intercultural Projects Association and CISU (Civil Society in Development) from Denmark within the donor program "Recovery and Resilience through Youth Leadership in Ukraine."

At the hubs, youth leaders who have undergone special training by the UAFA are implementing their own volunteer football projects for children in their communities. They engage children who previously did not participate in sports and through their favorite game provide psychological support to children affected by war.

In February, the following activities are planned at the hubs:

Vinnitsa Oblast, Tulychyn City, DYSH for children-sиріt:

01.02 — "Winter Cup" football tournament by Tulychyn DYSH for boys and girls 2014-2015 born;

12.02 — "Football Quiz";

16.02 — "Sweet Cup" football tournament for children;

28.02 — 5-a-side football tournament for boys and girls 2016-2017 born.

Volyn Oblast, Gorohiv City, DYSH:

06.02 — Football relays;

13.02 — "I Am Safe" event with the involvement of the DSNS;                

20.02 — "Football Games" and introduction to the history of Ukrainian football;

27.02 — "Happy Football" contests.

The Ukrainian Football Association's "Open Football Festivals" project is:

  • youth leadership in communities;
  • psychosocial support for children of military service personnel, children with disabilities, and children affected by the war;
  • unification and friendship between children with disabilities and local children, social integration;
  • inclusive environment where everyone participates, including children with special educational needs;
  • knowledge of safety in wartime conditions;
  • philosophy of mass football — joy from the game instead of results at any cost;
  • promotion of a healthy lifestyle;
  • development of volunteering;
  • activation of local communities through intersectoral networks (youth leaders, teachers, coaches, psychologists, safety experts, parents, local government, donors, etc.).
