The first half of the match was evenly contested. Both teams demonstrated an open futsal with a high number of shots on goal, though the Ukrainians had slightly more (22:17). Opportunities to break the deadlock were present for both sides, but the keepers performed well and the forwards lacked accuracy. Thus, in the first 20 minutes — no score.

The second half continued the first — many shots on goal and intense competition. However, it was the French who scored. On the 28th minute, Amine Gueddoua received a pass in the penalty area and shot over Alexander Sukhov.

However, the Ukrainians responded two minutes later. Abdessamad Mohammed saved a shot in his own goal and was shown a red card. The blue-yellow team had a penalty opportunity which Eugene Zhuk converted without hesitation.

In the remaining time, under Alexander Kosenko's guidance, the Ukrainians had two excellent chances to take the lead, but Petr Shoturma and Igor Korson’s shots were saved by the French goalkeeper. Thus, 1:1, and extra time was needed.

In the first of them, after a team foul, the referee awarded France a double penalty from the spot. Suhail Muxudin's shot was accurate — 2:1. At the end of this extra period, he also scored from outside the box and completed his hat-trick.

In the second extra period, our team switched to a five-man field but conceded a counter-attack in which Muxudin scored his third goal of the match. However, soon after, the blue-yellow team won another double penalty and Igor Korson narrowed the gap slightly. Unfortunately, they could not score more.

Thus, the final score — 4:2 to France, which advanced to the semi-finals of Euro-2026 where on February 4th it will face the winner of Portugal vs Belgium. Ukraine concluded its tournament participation.
