The head coach of Ukraine's women's national futsal team, Oleksandr Zolotukhin, has summed up the first training camp under his leadership and two friendly matches against Norway (2:0, 0:1), reports the AFSU.

— The first training camp is over, and you have had your first matches at the helm of the national team. What impressions did your coaching debut leave on you?

— I believe that it's very honorable for any coach, regardless of the sport, to work with a national team of their country, so naturally, my impression is positive. As for the training camp, I really enjoyed how the girls worked in a positive mood during the training process and how they received instructions and interacted with the coaching staff.

— In the matches against Norway, many young women got their chance to play. Did their performance and dedication earn them trust for the future?

— Right now, our focus is on developing youth, so there are opportunities for girls to showcase themselves, believe in their abilities and potential. I appreciated their dedication, but it's important to understand that players need a lot of work, gain international experience, so we can rely on them in the future.

— In friendly matches, the game is more important than the result. Are you satisfied with how the team played against Norway?

— I wouldn't say that. The result is important even in friendlies, not for any price, but it's important. In some moments we managed to transfer into the game what we worked on during training sessions, but there is still a lot of work ahead for us.

— What do you think was missing to celebrate victory even in the second match?

— Right now we are focusing on an element of play such as goalkeeper involvement. This already foretells that for mistakes we can be severely punished. If in the first game we managed to avoid errors with the goalie's engagement, then in the second one we were penalized for it. But the main thing is that the girls understand — without such mistakes we still cannot do without. Nothing terrible happened, we will draw conclusions and move forward.
