Vladimir Muntyan has left this life...

On the first day of winter, at 80 years old after a long illness, Vladimir Fedorovich Muntian passed away — a prominent football player for Kyiv's "Dynamo" and the SSR national team, an authoritative coach.

He was the best player in the USSR in 1969, seven-time champion of the country, twice the winner of the USSR Cup, winner of the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup and Super Cup, participant of the World Cup in 1970, vice-president of the Ukrainian Football Veterans Association.

The legendary half-back, a person infinitely devoted to his cause, beloved by millions of fans is no more. His brilliant play is still remembered today.

Vladimir Muntian has long entered the pantheon of football glory — as one of the most prominent players of his era, as a coach and as a football official. Especially significant is his contribution to the development of veterans' movement: for over 20 years he worked in the leadership of the Ukrainian Football Veterans Association, supporting and uniting generations who glorified Ukrainian football.

The UAF expresses sincere condolences to the relatives and close friends of Vladimir Fedorovich and shares their grief. Eternal memory...
