Today, November 29, the Ukrainian women's youth team played their second match in the first qualifying round for Euro-2026 (WU-19) in Bielyna. The opponent was San Marino.

Compared to the game against Bosnia and Herzegovina (2:0), head coach Oleg Bortnyk made five changes in the starting lineup. For Ukraine, it was important not only to win but also to do so with as large a margin of victory as possible. Since Romania, who will play against us in the third round, defeated San Marino 6:0 and had an advantage over us due to their better goal difference.

The Ukrainians scored four goals against their opponents already in the first half. The first two goals came from set pieces: Tkachuk scored a corner kick under the crossbar from about 18 meters out. Four minutes later, Holovanchuk also scored with a long-range shot after an out-kick. In the second half of the period, Beleva took advantage of a defensive error and passed the ball into the net from outside the penalty area. And near the end of the half, Kanakhovska marked her individual effort by passing down the left flank, cutting inside to the penalty box, and beating the goalkeeper.

The second half, despite Ukraine's significant advantage, was not as productive — only one goal was scored. Near the end of the game, Tkachuk completed a double with an assist from Beleva. 5:0 — another consecutive victory for the blue and yellow team.

It should be noted that in another match in the group, Romania defeated Bosnia and Herzegovina — 2:1 and remains at the top of the standings due to additional indicators. The next game for Ukraine will be against Romania (kickoff — 14:00 Kyiv time) on December 2nd, and only a victory can secure our girls' place.
