The Ukrainian women's national team, under the leadership of Volodymyr Pyatenko, continues to prepare for the World Cup qualifiers in 2027.

In February 2026, the women's League of Nations in Lize A will begin, serving as qualifiers for the 2027 World Cup. By the draw, Ukraine's national team has been placed in group 3 along with Spain, England, and Iceland.

In November, Ukrainian players will participate in their final training camp of the year, where they will test their strength against friendly matches against Scotland and Austria. The games will take place within the She Plays tournament in Spain, which will bring together eight national women's teams.

The first match under Vladimir Pyatenko's guidance will be on November 28th against Scotland's national team at Municipal Stadium "Chapin" (Jerez, Spain). The start is scheduled for 13:00 Kyiv time.

In just three days, the Ukrainian team will face a new challenge — a match against Austria's national team, another representative of League A in Lize Nations. The game will take place on December 1st at "El Palmer" Stadium (Cadiz, Spain). The start of the meeting is set for 13:00 Kyiv time.

As a reminder, the FIFA Council has approved that the women's World Cup in 2027 will take place in Brazil from June 24 to July 25. Of the 32 spots available, 29 direct qualifiers will be distributed as follows:

  • Europe — 11;
  • Asia — 6;
  • Africa — 4;
  • CONCACAF — 4;
  • Southern America — 3 (Brazil qualifies automatically from this quota);
  • Oceania — 1.

The three remaining spots will be determined in a playoff tournament involving ten national teams. It will consist of two stages with the following quotas:

  • Europe — 1;
  • Asia — 2;
  • Africa — 2;
  • CONCACAF — 2;
  • Southern America — 2;
  • Oceania — 1.

The first stage of the playoff tournament will take place in October—December 2026, and the second one — in February 2027.

European Qualifiers for the 2027 World Cup

The European qualification will take place over three stages. Group stage matches will be held on March 3rd and 7th, April 14th and 18th, and June 5th and 9th, 2026 in three leagues—A (16 teams), B (16) and C (21).

The starting position of each team in the leagues is determined based on the results of the Nations League-2025. Ukraine will compete in League A.

Direct qualifiers for the World Cup 2027 will be the winners of four groups in League A. 

The remaining spots will be contested in playoff rounds in October—December 2026. In the first round, teams that finished second and third in League A will play against the winners of six groups from League C and the best teams finishing second there. Eight winners advance to the second round.

The four lowest-ranked teams in League A and the four group winners from League B will face off against the second- and third-placed teams in their respective leagues. Eight winners advance to the second round.

In the second round, 16 teams will meet in eight pairs. Seven of the best winners qualify for the World Cup, while the eighth must participate in a continental playoff.
