Today, adidas and the Ukrainian Football Association (UAF) present a new exclusive national team kit for Ukraine. The team will wear this kit during qualification matches against France and Iceland on November 13 and 16 for the FIFA World Cup 2026. The design combines modernity with deep historical symbols of statehood.

The new design was created through a reinterpretation of elements from the coat of arms of the Ukrainian People's Republic, designed in 1918 by artist and architect Vasyl Krychevsky. He took inspiration from Prince Vladimir the Great's trident, while the stylized olive wreath around it symbolized the peace-loving nature of the Ukrainian People's Republic. adidas has interpreted this ornamentation in a contemporary graphic solution to highlight Ukraine's cultural heritage across generations, as well as the strength, dignity, and desire for freedom of the Ukrainian people.

Igor Marinich, Director adidas Ukraine:

“It is important for us that the national team kit has its own voice — in design and meaning. We were inspired by fundamental symbols of Ukraine's statehood and embodied them in a contemporary aesthetic. This is a unique kit designed specifically for our country. We are proud of this. Such projects show how national identity becomes part of global football culture.”

The entire line is designed with the highest performance requirements in mind — to support world-class players during decisive moments and help adapt to different climate conditions of three host countries. For matches in hot weather, elastic fabrics with the latest CLIMACOOL+ technology are used, which quickly wick away moisture and keep the body dry. Perforated stripes with three adidas bands guarantee maximum ventilation, while strategically placed mesh inserts on the fabric provide optimal airflow even under extreme climate conditions. The collection also features a new lenticular adidas logo applied by thermal printing, creating an effect of shape change that makes the logo look different depending on the angle.

“Creating a collection for the FIFA World Cup 2026, we aimed to combine each country's unique identity with innovation and performance. Each design tells a story — blending cultural heritage with contemporary aesthetics — and is created using the latest technologies that help players feel comfortable and confident on the world’s biggest football stage. From expressive visual details and lenticular logos to ventilation systems — this collection embodies the future of football kit design.”

The partnership between adidas and UAF unites a common goal — the development of Ukrainian football and support for the national team on its path to new victories.

Andriy Shevchenko, President of the Ukrainian Football Association:

“Every new match is a chance to show the world who we are and what Ukrainians are. This kit was created with respect for Ukraine's thousand-year history, its centuries-long search for its place in the world and its own path. This ornamentation serves as a reminder that Ukrainians chose statehood both at the beginning of the 20th century and today. We thank adidas for their partnership which helps our players feel confident on and off the pitch.”
