The match in Paris started with a cold shower for the hosts. On the 21st minute, Andri Gudjohnsen put Iceland ahead. However, the French did not give up and at the end of the first half, Kylian Mbappé equalized from the penalty spot.

In the second half, Didier Deschamps' team continued to dominate and on the 62nd minute, Boubacar Kamara put France ahead. For the visitors, hope faded when Aurélien Tchouaméni was sent off in the 68th minute, leaving the French down a man. But Iceland were unable to equalize.

Thus, the final score was 2-1 in favor of France.
