Today, the Ukraine youth national team played their opening match in the Euro 2027 (U-21) qualifying tournament against Lithuania.

The match took place in the city of Druskininkai at the "Druskininkai Stadium". In the first half, the teams exchanged dangerous shots from Jurionas and Tutyurov, but spectators did not see any goals.

The main events of the match unfolded after halftime. In the 69th minute, Synchuk passed to Krevsun, who scored against the opposing team's goal. Four minutes later, a pass from Krups'kyi on the right flank came under Corniychuks's strike, and he hit the left lower corner. And in the 77th minute, Synchuk won a penalty kick on the right wing of the penalty area, which he himself converted. The match ended with a successful shot by Gadzhiev.

Thus, 4:0 in favor of the team coached by Dmytro Mykhaylenko. The next match for the blue and yellow team will be on September 10 against the Hungarian national team.

Nine groups were formed: six of them will have six teams each and three will have five.

In the final stage of Euro-2027 (U-21) sixteen teams will participate: Albania, Serbia, and fourteen other national teams that qualify based on their qualifying results (nine group winners, the best team among second-place finishers, and four playoff winners).

2026:

  • March 23—31;
  • September 21 — October 6;

Playoff: November 9—17, 2026.

Euro-2027 (U-21) is planned to be held at four stadiums in Albania (Tirana, Shkoder, Elbasan, Rrogozhina) and four in Serbia (Novi Sad, Loznica, Leskovac, Zajecar). The opening match will take place in Serbia, the final — in Albania. It is worth noting that the top teams at Euro-2027 (U-21) will qualify for the 2028 Olympics from UEFA's zone.
