Kharkiv Oblast Continues to Develop Regional Football: The VII Conference of the Regional Football Association Took Place

At the Kharkiv Oblast Football Association's VII Conference in Kharkiv Oblast, headed by Oleg Sinyugov, the head of the Kharkiv Oblast Military Administration, and with the participation of Igor Gryshchenko, the general secretary of the Ukrainian Football Association, Tetiana Yeremenko-Luценко, the head of the Kharkiv Oblast Council, as well as representatives of the region's football community — players, coaches, and sports veterans.

In Kharkiv Oblast, the VII Conference of the Kharkiv Regional Football Association took place under the chairmanship of Oleg Synegubov, Head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, and with the participation of Igor Gryshchenko, General Secretary of the Ukrainian Football Association, Tetiana Yeremenko-Lutsenko, Chairwoman of the Kharkiv Regional Council, as well as representatives of the football community of the region – players, coaches, and sports veterans.

During the conference, the results of 2025 were reviewed and key tasks for the current year were outlined. Special attention was given to preserving the football infrastructure in the region and developing youth football under conditions of a war. Thanks to cooperation with international partners, young footballers from Kharkiv Oblast had the opportunity to travel to European countries for training camps, restoration, and improvement of their skills despite systematic shelling. Regional competitions were organized and held within the region.

Oleg Synegubov emphasized the strategic task of preserving football and sports infrastructure in the region, thanking the Ukrainian Football Association (UFA) and its president Andriy Shevchenko for systematic support and implementation of important projects in Kharkiv Oblast. Igor Gryshchenko noted that Kharkiv remains an important football center in Ukraine, which continues to live and develop despite the war, with a perspective of hosting matches at both national and international levels.

At the conference, honorary awards were also presented to the best athletes, coaches, sports veterans, and benefactors of the Kharkiv Regional Football Association, UFA, and the National Olympic Committee.

A separate block was dedicated to the development of veteran sports. In the season, the first-ever Ukrainian championship in amputee football took place, with the team "Metallist 1925 Unbreakable" participating. The Kharkiv players finished fifth and secured a spot in the Super League. The team set ambitious plans for 2026 – to compete for top positions and further develop their squad.

A number of Kharkiv teams continue to participate in national cup tournaments for the 2025/2026 season. "Metallist 1925" plays in the quarter-finals of the Ukrainian Cup. "Avangard Lozova" reached the semi-finals of the amateur Ukrainian Cup. Among women's teams, FC Metallist 1925 also continues to compete at the 1/2 final stage.
