During the past year in Kyiv, based at Lyceum No. 243, the youngest girls had a wonderful opportunity to become participants of the international UEFA Playmakers project, which is implemented by the Ukrainian Football Association.

Under the guidance of project coaches Roman Shcheglyuk and Yuliia Borodina, the girls opened up to the world of football through play, creativity, and emotions during thematic sessions based on Disney films.

Roman Shcheglyuk says: "Throughout this cycle, the main focus of training was the film 'Inside Out - 2', which helped girls better understand their feelings, learn to work in a team, support each other, and express emotions through movement and sports."

During the sessions, participants performed fun tasks, various ball exercises, developed coordination, agility, speed, mobility, and self-confidence. Each training session was filled with joy, friendship, and genuine smiles.

The UEFA Playmakers project is not just about football, but the first step towards a great love for sports, self-discovery, and belief in one's own possibilities!

Objectives of the UEFA Playmakers program implemented by the Ukrainian Football Association:

  • To familiarize girls with football, creating an environment focused on fun, friends, and football;
  • To introduce a new individual coaching approach that uses imagination (inspired by Disney stories and characters) as a tool for training and acquiring game skills in football;
  • To develop life skills for girls, basic movement skills, and teach the fundamentals of football to foster a lifelong love for the sport.
