The Ukrainian Football Association has introduced a mechanism for direct payment of compensation to first youth coaches for the training of players. Relevant norms are provided in Article 5 of Appendix No. 1 to the UAF Regulations on Player Status and Transfer, approved by the Executive Committee of the UAF.

Now, the first coach of a player has a guaranteed right to receive a portion of the compensation for training as an individual. Previously, such funds were paid exclusively to schools and clubs.

Who is entitled to compensation

The right to receive payment belongs to the first coach of a player who has conducted his initial training and can document this fact.

What is the compensation amount

From the total compensation for training a player, 25% is allocated as a share of the first coach. The overall amount of compensation remains unchanged.

How payment is made: step-by-step instructions

Step 1. Compensation emergence

Compensation for training a player arises in cases stipulated by the regulatory norms (professional contract, transfer, etc.).

Step 2. Trainer's share separation

From the total compensation amount, the trainer’s share of 25% is automatically determined.

Step 3. Centralized payment

The specified funds are credited to the current account of UAF with a clear designation of the payment – in favor of the first coach of a specific player.

Step 4. Trainer's submission of documents

To substantiate the right to payment, the trainer submits to UAF:

— a voluntary application;

— a document certifying identity;

— documents and information confirming the fact of training a player.

Step 5. Verification and payment

After verifying the submitted documents, UAF makes a direct payment to the first coach as an individual.

«For me, it has always been important to respect youth coaches. To those who lay down the first football knowledge for future players of Ukraine’s national team and professional clubs.»

Now, all first youth coaches will be guaranteed direct receipt of compensation for training a player. Previously, these funds were received only by schools and clubs. We have corrected this.

Every youth coach should be confident that his work is properly valued, and he can fully focus on nurturing talents», — emphasized the importance of this decision Ukrainian Football Association President Andriy Shevchenko.

The introduction of this mechanism is aimed at raising the prestige of the profession of a youth coach, creating a transparent payment system, and long-term improvement in the quality of player training in Ukraine.
