The head coach of Ukraine's U-17 national team (players born in 2009 or later), Oleksandr Sitnik, commented on the draw for the second qualifying round of Euro 2026 for under-17s.

Ukraine's U-17 national team, which secured third place in their group in the first round of Euro 2026 (U-17) qualification, will now play in League B. As a result of the draw, Ukraine has been placed in Group B6, where they will face teams from Latvia and Albania.

The official website of the Ukrainian Football Association received comments from our team's head coach Oleksandr Sitnik regarding the results of the draw.

— Of course, I cannot yet say anything specific about the opponents, — said Sitnik. — But in any case, our task is to win this tournament. For us, it's always an international experience, so the team will prepare with full responsibility for future matches. At this stage, the main thing is to conduct quality selection and give players as many practice games as possible.  

Euro 2026 (U-17). Second Qualifying Round

League B

Group B1: Israel, Faroe Islands, England, Estonia.

Group B2: Bulgaria, Lithuania, Malta, Azerbaijan.

Group B3: Wales, Georgia, San Marino, Andorra.

Group B4: Finland, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Moldova, Gibraltar.

Group B5: Hungary, Luxembourg, Armenia, Liechtenstein.

Group B6: Ukraine, Latvia, Albania.

Group B7: Netherlands, Belarus, Kosovo.

In the second round, 28 teams (14 group winners from the first round and 14 teams that secured second place) will compete in seven groups of League A until March 31. The winners of these quartets will join hosts Estonia in the final stage, which will take place from May 25 to June 7, 2026. The draw for this tournament is scheduled for April 9.

In turn, 26 teams will compete until June 30 in seven groups of League B (five with four teams each and two with three).

Both tournaments are important in the context of forming Leagues A and B for the first round of Euro 2028 (U-19) qualification.
