Head coach of the Ukrainian women's national team Volodymyr Pyatenko commented on the official website of the UAF, explaining when his players gathered in full strength:

— The last to arrive in the lineup on November 25 were the foreign-based players Inna Hlushchenko and Nicole Kozlova. It's warm in southern Spain these days, providing all conditions for a full training process.

— During the previous international break, you couldn't count on 11 starters due to various reasons when playing friendly matches against Slovakia and Romania. What is the current personnel situation?

— Unfortunately, just before departure, it became known that Viktoriya Hryin and Olha Basanska would not be able to help us due to injuries. That's why only five key players returned compared to previous sparring matches.

— How serious are the injuries of Hryin and Basanska?

— I hope they will be back by the end of 2025. By the way, Veronika Andrukhiv is already recovering from her injury. I believe that by March when the qualifying matches for Euro-2027 start, all three players will be in playing shape.

— Do you have enough information about your upcoming opponents?

— Yes, we've already thoroughly analyzed their play during theoretical sessions. It's important that they operate in different styles, which is a very valuable experience for us as it will help us approach the March qualifiers well-prepared. For us now, the main thing is to gain playing practice, especially against such strong national teams as Scotland and Austria.

Euro-2027 Qualifiers

The European qualifiers will take place over three stages. Group stage matches will be held on March 3 and 7, April 14 and 18, and June 5 and 9, 2026 in three leagues — A (16 teams), B (16) and C (21).

The starting position of each team in the leagues is determined based on the results of the Nations League-2025. Ukraine will compete in League A.

Four group winners from League A will qualify directly for Euro-2027.

The remaining spots will be contested in playoff rounds in October—December 2026. In the first round, teams finishing second and third in League A will play against winners of six groups from League C and best runners-up from that league. Eight winners advance to the second round.

Four lowest-ranked teams from League A and four group winners from League B will face off against second- and third-placed teams from League B, respectively. Eight winners advance to the second round.

In the second round, 16 teams will meet in eight pairs. Seven best winners qualify for the World Cup, while the eighth team must participate in a continental playoff.
