Today, November 26 in the Romanian city of Kajaani the Ukrainian women's national team will play their opening match in the first qualifying round for Euro-2026 (WU-17) against Switzerland.

"Before leaving for Romania, we conducted a short-term preparation stage in Kyiv. We had issues with organizing a friendly match, but we did manage to play against the boys from 'Metalist 1925' — 3:3. Karina Lespukh (twice) and Sofia Kozishkurts scored goals. This game was important for determining which 20 players will participate in the Euro qualification."

It's very important to return home with something to show. We are seriously preparing for each match, but it seems that the decisive one will be the last — against Romania. The main thing is not to finish last and retain our place among the top teams,"— said head coach of the Ukrainian women's national team WU-17 Lyudmila Lemesko.

According to the draw results, our team will play in Group 6 of League A along with Austria, Switzerland, and Romania. The tournament in this group will take place in Romania from November 26 to December 2.

We remind you that today's match against the Swiss team starts at 12:00 Kyiv time. Live broadcast — on the YouTube channel of the UAF.
