Head coach of Ukraine's U-17 national team Oleksandr Sitnik has announced the names of football players born in 2009 who will prepare for the first round of qualification matches for the UEFA European Championship 2026 (U-17). The matches will take place in Tallinn from October 1 to 7.
Goalkeepers: Oleksandr Stepanov («Shakhtar» Donetsk), Denys Stolyarenko («Legia», Poland), Dmytro Pohar («Dynamo» Kyiv).

54 teams were divided into 12 groups of four participants and two groups of three participants. The host country for the final tournament, Estonia's national team, will also participate in the qualification round.
Based on the results of the first round of selection, 14 group winners and 14 teams that finish second will advance to the second round in League A. The remaining 26 teams will take part in the second round in League B.
Teams advancing to the second round of qualification in League A will compete in spring 2026 for seven spots at the final tournament of Euro 2026 (U-17). Estonia, as the host nation, has automatically received a bye. It should be noted that this qualifying round is also part of the qualification process for the FIFA World Cup 2026 (U-17) in Qatar.
Moreover, teams from both leagues in the second round of selection will compete to move up and down between leagues before the first round of Euro 2028 (U-19) qualification.
