Luchesku managed the Donetsk «Shakhtar» for 13 seasons, setting a record for «Hirnyks» in terms of longevity on the coaching position and number of matches (573). During this time, «Shakhtar» won 22 trophies, including the UEFA Cup in 2009. Additionally, Mircea was the head coach of Kyiv «Dynamo» from 2020 to 2023.

Luchesku has nine titles in the Ukrainian Championship, seven victories in the Ukrainian Cup, and eight in the Super Cup.
