The Ukrainian Football Association and the Swedish Football Federation signed a memorandum of understanding that lays the groundwork for strategic partnership between the organizations before the national team match.

The document envisages the development of knowledge, experience, and resource exchange in a wide range of areas — from the promotion of mass, women's, and adaptive football to coaching education, refereeing, digital innovations, infrastructure, and sports science. The memorandum also opens up opportunities for joint tournaments, training programs, charitable projects, and friendly matches between national teams.

The president of the Swedish Football Federation Simon Öström emphasized: "The Swedish Football Federation and the Ukrainian Football Association have maintained good and mutually respectful relations for many years, and when our national teams were drawn in December, our dialogue became even more intense. These discussions led us to sign this Memorandum of Understanding, which I am happy to sign today on behalf of Swedish football. Within this partnership, we can provide support and create meaningful knowledge and experience exchange in various areas of football. Football has a powerful unifying force, and we strive to ensure that this force continues to make a difference even during times of great challenges."

Ukrainian Football Association President Andriy Shevchenko noted: "Sweden and Ukraine have met on the football field multiple times. Competing against each other, we simultaneously shared common values symbolized by the blue and yellow colors of our flags — mutual respect and a firm belief in fair competition. These principles extended beyond the field, shaping friendly and supportive relations between our associations. I am pleased that by signing this memorandum today, we are creating a foundation for strategic partnership that will benefit both organizations."
