The wards of Oleksandr Kosenko have already arrived in Polish Peremyshl, where they began a daily training camp as part of the preparation for Euro-2026. Before their departure, Yevheniy Zhuk and Petro Shoturma from the Ukrainian national team shared their expectations for the main tournament season.

"I am confident that at the handball fields of Euro-2026, we will have our supporters' support. I have already said many times that there is almost a home atmosphere wherever we play matches. We always had our supporters present in all countries where we played. They are very nice.

Regarding the tasks for this tournament, personally, I want to score goals for our national team because it's my job and what I should do. But the main thing is not individual but collective. I think the coaching staff will set us final tasks for Euro, but we always say that we move from match to match. For now, we have a group stage ahead of us, and that's what we are thinking about right now.

Against us, there will be opponents who managed to qualify for the European Championship. We will be honest; Armenia came out of a very tough group, splitting Kazakhstan, which was fourth in the world ranking. This is a serious indicator. We played against Czechia, and it's a strong team. They recently held friendly matches and had a very good look. And Lithuania - it's the host, they will fight hard. We recently played with them, and Lithuanians bit us quite hard. Plus, they will have crazy support from the stands, much more than in training sessions. It's harder to play against such teams compared to top teams like Portugal. They can sit back, and sometimes there are complex options," — said Yevheniy Zhuk.

"I returned to the national team after a more serious injury than I expected. However, there was much work, many trainings, so I feel ready for Euro. I am already back on my usual high level, and I think this European Championship will show what Petro Shoturma is capable of," — noted Petro Shoturma.
