The Ukrainian U-18 national team (players born in 2008) continues its training camp in Croatia, which will last until October 16.

During this camp, the blue-and-yellow team is participating in an international friendly tournament where they played their second match today against Wales U-18. As a reminder, in the first encounter our team lost to Croatia's one-year-olds — 0:2.

The match against Wales began actively for the Ukrainians: already in the early minutes Zudin had a dangerous shot, and later the blue-and-yellow team created another opportunity from a set piece. In the 16th minute, persistent pressure on the opponent led to a gross error by the defender — Arseniy Fedorenko intercepted a pass back to the goalkeeper, dribbled past him and opened the score — 1:0. Before halftime, Muрадyan (his penalty shot was saved by the keeper), Menшиkov, and again Fedorenko had chances to double their lead.

In the beginning of the second half, an unpleasant episode occurred — opponents fouled Zubrіy in midfield, necessitating a mandatory substitution. Despite this, the picture of the game did not change: blue-and-yellow continued to play sharper and kept creating opportunities. The goalkeeper saved a dangerous shot by Kalyuzhnyi into the near corner, while shortly after Sereda had another attempt from inside the penalty area that went over the crossbar.

The minimum score remained until the final whistle. 1:0 — victory for coach Oleksandr Sitnik's team. The Ukrainian youth national team will play their next match in the tournament on October 14 against Sweden.
