In the first half of this match, Malinovs'ky scored a brace and became the winner of the prestigious "Man of the Match" award (76% of fans' votes).

After the game ended, the midfielder shared his impressions with the press service of the UAF.

"I don't remember, but this is probably my first 'Man of the Match'. I'm happy first and foremost for the result, for the victory. It would have been unpleasant to end this match in defeat. We were winning, we gave a lot of effort, all the guys fought for the result. So it's very pleasant that we won.

'Man of the Match' is an individual award, but we play as a team sport. I think Vitaliy Mykolenko played excellently, and Vana, Shaparenko, and Voloshin came on as a substitute very well. The defenders did a lot of dirty work. This can be said about every player in the defensive line.

Did I think about such a return to the national team? A year flew by very quickly, and there's this feeling that nothing happened. I don't want to look back. I just want to play more because I lost a lot of time. I want to give people joy, show good football. This is most important for me. Of my two goals against Iceland, I think the second one was better. A great shot...

Icelandic fans only played on drums, while ours chanted and supported us. It was very pleasant. Thank you that they came to support us in such cold weather. I hope they didn't freeze, but we gave them good emotions,"— said Ruslan Malinovs'ky.
