The Iceland and Azerbaijan national teams, who are opponents of the Ukrainian national team in Group D of the European qualification for the 2026 World Cup, played against each other.

Iceland and Azerbaijan national teams, which are rivals of the Ukrainian national team in group D of the European qualification for the 2026 World Cup, played against each other.

The match took place in Reykjavik simultaneously with a game between Ukraine and France. After an even first half, where the hosts managed to open the score on the second minute of added time, Iceland dominated completely in the second half.

After halftime, four more goals were scored against Azerbaijan, and the game ended in a rout — 5:0.
